Video: Golden Retriever Greets Dad With Toy He Brought Home From Trip

They say the relationship between a dad and their little girl is really sweet, and this adorable Instagram video from @theturkeychronicles proves just that. In the video, a Golden Retriever named Ari Gold has basically decided to never leave her dad’s side after his trip, as she sits right next to her owner in bed and acts like his return is the only thing she cares about. And we understand her feelings.

In the video, the Golden Retriever stays close to her dad, thumping her tail against the blankets, and sitting in a way like her only job is to guard him. The on-screen caption says, “Good morning from daddy’s spot with daddy.” 

According to the video’s caption, the Golden Retriever not only refused to leave her dad’s side, but she also showed up with a present — a giraffe toy her dad brought back from his trip. The caption said, “Good morning friends We’re very happy daddy’s home.” It continued, “The turkey won’t leave his side and brought him the giraffe he got her from his trip.”

When a favorite person comes back, many dogs stick close as if trying to make up for lost time. Dogs usually bond through smell and proximity, so if that routine gets interrupted, the reunion can bring a burst of relief and excitement — often with the dog choosing the closest possible seat, which in Ari’s case happens to be “daddy’s spot.”

And as far as bringing the toy goes, dogs like to carry prized objects when they feel worked up or happy. It can bring them comfort, and sometimes it is an invitation to play.

Viewers loved Ari’s devotion to her dad. In the comments, people called it “pure happiness,” pointed out the “fluffy happy tail wagging,” and agreed that Ari did not need to do much more than lie there to steal the whole scene.
