A video on Instagram shows a Golden Retriever attempting her best to approach a feline. But it seems the cat has its own reservations and is not accepting any friend requests. The cat playfully slaps the pooch multiple times, though the golden girl Winnie doesn’t seem to give up. In the caption, the uploader mentions the dog’s point of view (POV). It reads, “Do you think the kitty likes me?” Meanwhile, the clip has left many viewers amused, with one commenter joking about the “swatting” in the comments.

In the dog video on Instagram, the Golden Retriever seems determined to befriend the cat despite the latter’s playful slaps. The clip begins with on-screen text describing the context. It reads, “When you’re just trying to be friends with a kitty.” It then shows a man lying on the couch, playing with a Golden Retriever.

The camera then moves and shows another dog and a cat in the background of the calm scene on the first couch. On another couch, the pooch is lying down on the cushions with his face towards the cat. Meanwhile, the feline is sitting on the armrest, looking curiously at the dog.

In response to the Golden Retriever’s interest in them, the feline playfully swats at the dog. Despite the tiny slaps, the Golden Retriever seems not to mind the reaction. He doesn’t budge and, instead, he keeps reaching out to the cat, dodging hits and never seeming to give up.

Meanwhile, Randy Newman’s classic track, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the movie “Toy Story,” plays over the top of the scene to add an extra comedic edge and provide an upbeat soundtrack to the Golden Retriever’s sweet and unwavering efforts to make a friend.
